Physical Science, Grade 9
divider

This five-day content training is designed to support ninth grade physical science teachers to explore how to integrate scientific and engineering practices promoted in the new Minnesota standards and Next Generation national science standards. In addition, we will address cross-cutting themes from the new national standards and the integration of high school earth science standards and topics into physical science. Support will be provided for teachers to meet in professional learning communities (PLC) to discuss student understanding of training topics, how to interpret students’ work on assessment tasks, and how to plan effective instruction.

Teachers will explore the following topics incorporating relevant earth science topics, inquiry-based approaches and engineering design:

Physical Science - Structure of Matter Physical Science - Quemical Reactions Physical Science - Force and Motion Physical Science - Energy Physical Science - Review
