High School Mathematics through Science Technology and Engineering

This module provides instructional strategies that aid high school teachers in implementing STEM contexts into their mathematics classrooms and increases their understanding of the connections between mathematics and the other areas of STEM. Participants become familiar with engineering, science, and technology as contexts in which to teach high school mathematics. Problem-solving activities with STEM contexts that have mathematics as the underlying structure are presented. Participants map STEM context activities to the current high school state mathematics and science standards and to national standards. They analyze student work on these activities and learn where to find resources to bring STEM contexts into their classrooms.
