Overview

Between content training days, all participating school teams hold four one-hour PLC meetings. During these PLC meetings teachers share and reflect on what they have learned during the content training sessions and how it is related to their classroom practice. A lead teacher is designated for each school team to serve as the PLC facilitator.

The four meeting PLC structure focuses on results from implementation of classroom activities and collected data. Topics of discussion for the four sessions are provided to PLC facilitators through PLC A, B, C and D materials.

The PLC Facilitator Role

PLC facilitators form an integral part of the Region 11 Math and Science Teacher Center. Facilitators coordinate each group of participating teachers at each school, attend content training during the year with their team, and are also required to attend a full day training session focused specifically on PLC development, strategies, and management.
